Providence Jam Fest MVP Kadary Richmond does a Q&A with HG Insider - Breaking out with Team New England
Kadary Richmond was named the MVP of the Hoop Group Providence Jam Fest. The New York City native took the event by storm and led Team New England to a 17u championship. He’s still relatively unknown and should see more attention come his way shortly. Richmond has made a smooth transition to his new squad in Team New England.
Q: How has it been with your new AAU team in Team New England?
A: “It’s been good for me. With the help of some great coaches this transition has been very easy.”
Q: What are some of the parts of your game that are your strengths and what are some things you need to improve on?
A: “I believe I make my teammates better by passing the ball and I think I score the ball well. Something I need to improve on is shooting the ball from outside.”
Q: What schools are involved in your recruitment so far?
A: “Fordham and Manhattan are the only schools to recruit me so far.”
Q: What mindset will you carry for the rest of your AAU season?
A: “We need to play every game hard and just try to win out for the rest of the summer.”
Q: What will you be keying in on in order to win out?
A: “We just need to win as a team, build more chemistry and give it our all on the floor.”
Q: What’s it like playing with guys like Femi Odukale and Isaiah Richards who you play high school ball with?
A: “It’s good to play with two athletes who can score the ball and defend all year round. Playing with them in both makes things easier because we already have good chemistry.”
