Saturday Standouts | July 21st
Isaiah Jackson (2020, The Family): Isaiah Jackson came in as one of the hottest names in the country and hasn't disapointed at all. The 6'8 forward threw down numerous highlight dunks and protected the rim at an elite level. After a 2-0 Saturday, Jackson and The Family look to make a deep run in the Summer Jam Fest.
Bryce Butler (2019, PK Flash 17U): Does well shooting the ball from the perimeter. In his game set against the PTT blue he has 4 threes just in the first half. Plays a catch and shoot game, Butler is excellent moving off screens to get himself an open look. Played hard and aggressive to earn himself a place in the Day 2 standouts
Tyler Thomas (2019, PTT Blue): In his game set vs the Pk flash he showed a enormous amount of versatility on the offensive side of the ball. Getting to the rim, knocking down 3s, or taking someone off the dribble and pulling up for mid range shots, he was doing it all. Not only that he was a huge defensive presence for his team. Look out fo this kid to shine again this weekend
Andrew Delaney (2019, Jersey Shore Warriors Gold): Delaney standing at 6'6 has tremendous size to play the 2 position. Effective getting to the rim and knocking down shots, makes him extremely difficult to guard. The shooting guard had an impressive morning set displaying his offensive efficiency and earned him a place in the Day 2 standouts
Isaiah Wong (2019, We-R1): The 6-3 guard put on a show against an impressive Team Melo. Leading his team to a 21 point win, Wong got to the rim at will being crafty with his finishes. Posting an impressive field goal percentage, he was very efficient with his shots. The 2019 player put up 16 points and a couple of blocks to add to his stat line. We thought this kid looked good at Elite 2, it seems what we saw was only a peak into what he can really do. Very impressive day from Isaiah. Wong currently holds an extensive list of Division I offers.
Chereef Knox ( 2019, We-R1): The 6-7 power forward had an impressive outing versus Team Melo. The big would post 16 points. Got it done in the paint drawing fouls and knocking down his free throws, Team Melo did not have an answer for Knox. The big currently holds several high major offers.
James Bouknight (2019, PSA Cardinals): The 6'4 guard for PSA put on a show in his two games at Summer Jam Fest. In his 33 point performance against a tough PhillyPride team, James made 7 threes and finished very well at the rim. After an injury kept him sidelined for most of the spring, he is making a big statement this summer with his play.
Donta Scott (2019, Philly Pride): After a huge week at Hoop Group Elite camp, Donta Scott showed off his full arsenal at Summer Jam Fest. The 6'6 wing paced his team in their 2-0 day in front of a slew of high major schools, getting to the rim well and making defending at a high level.
Gob Gabriel (2019, DC Blue Devils NH): Gob Gabriel continues to trend up this Summer with his high level play. The wirey, 6'7 wing got to the rim at will and showed off his improved midrange game. His strong play led the Blue Devils to an Elite 8 berth.
Sunday Standouts | July 22nd
Myles Stute (2020, Team Takeover): aggressive and a work horse on the glass, it seemed that he was grabbing every loose ball there was. Got to the rim at will using his physicality and aggressiveness, he could not be stopped in the paint. Huge contribution from this player helped Team Takeover Orange to capture the 16U Elite Championship
Dimingus Stevens (2020, Team Takeover): the sharp shooting guard displayed tremendous ability to score the call from 3. His form is excellent and you can see a lot of confidence in his jump shot. Not only does he shoot the ball well but he spaces the floor out for his other teammates to operate. He was a key player in their win today to capture the title of Summer Jam Fest 16U Elite Champions.
Tommy O'Neil (2019, Middlesex Magic): the 2019 forward could not be stopped in the semi final matchup against a stout The Family team. Showing his range as big, O'Neil knocked down a couple of 3's to get to his ___ points. He attacked the rim aggressively and was scoring the ball with ease in the paint. Phenomenal showing out of this kid to put his team in the championship game. O'Neil put up 26 points in a key semi final game.
Ryan Rollins (2020, The Family 16U): the guard would have an impressive outing but come up short against Team Takeover Orange. He mounted a 15 points come back to put them up by 1 with a minute left to go. Rollin would finish the game with 16 points and unfortunately a rip in that did not go there way lead to a tough loss in the semi finals of the 16U Bracket. None the less a great showing out of the 2020 player
B. Artis White (2019, The Family 17U EYBL): As crafty as they come, white can pull out an entire arsenal of moves to get to the basket. Playing a tough MiddleSex Magic team, they would get eliminated in the semi finals of the 17U Bracket. However white would finish the game with 19 points which included 5 threes. He is multi talented individual when it comes to his offense and earned his place in the Day 3 standouts
Terrance Clarke (2021, Expressions Elite) Clarke's elite play would lead his team all the way to the championship where he would shine again. The championship bracket had them matched up against a strong Middlesex Magic team. The 2021 guard, yes I said 2021, could not be stopped. Knocking down 3's and performing posterizing dunks in the championship game, Clarke scored the ball with ease. Middlesex proved they were not going to go down easy though, going up 3 with 10 second left to go and all the weight on Clarke's shoulders. The 2021 forward did not choke, hitting a buzzer beater to send the game into overtime proving you can't teach the clutch gene. In overtime he took over and won the game on an alley-oop over a player giving the Expressions Elite the title of 17U Champions. Clarke sure enough would be awarded the most valuable player of the tournament. Amazing weekend and a lot of promise out of this kid.
