Khalif Battle breaks down his commitment to Butler - Q&A

Class of 2019 guard Khalif Battle ended his recruitment early yesterday morning when he announced that he has committed to Butler University. Battle had a lot options close to home, but decided that he will be in the Midwest in college. He spoke to Hoop Group Insider on his decision.

Q: Why is Butler the place for you?

A: “Butler was the perfect place for me in both aspects from academics and basketball. The coaching staff had an enormous amount of love for me.”

Q: When did you know you find your school?

A: “I knew I found the school for me once I left the campus and slept on it overnight to see if I still had the same feeling about everything. When I came home my dad asked what else am I looking for in a school. I couldn't find an answer. It was honestly the best school for me.”

Q: Why did you decide to end things now?

A: “I felt the best school was available and I took the opportunity. Now I'm happy to focus on getting stronger and better in all facets.”

Q: What do the coaches have envisioned for you there?

A: “They envision me as a big time scorer. Not a shooter, but a playmaker. They have the utmost faith in my game and I have the utmost faith in them to bring my game to the next level.”

Q: What would you say separates Butler from other schools?

A: “The way they coach and play separates them from a lot of schools. Coach Jordan and Coach Meyer do a tremendous job developing players and getting the best out of them. The kids love the freedom the coaches give them.”
