Q&A with class of 2021 center Nnanna Njoku - He talks about his big role as a sophomore and more with HG Insider

Class of 2021 center Nnanna Njoku from Sanford (D.E.) has emerged as one of the best big men in the country and backed that reputation up at Slam Dunk to the Beach. Following his two games at the event, he and his teammate Jyare Davis received an offer from Virginia Tech. He spoke to HG Insider on where he is at with his game and more.

Q: You guys performed very well here at Slam Dunk to the Beach. How has your season gone so far?

A: “This season we have been doing pretty well and we are playing very hard. I think the team is coming together well and I’m looking forward to what is next.”

Q: You are just a sophomore, but you play a big role on this talented team. What has that been like for you?

A: “I love it because there is pressure on me to play well every game. I’ve been doing my thing and playing well with the guys around me. They have been helping me out and making my job easy.”

Q: What are some of your strengths and some of the things you are trying to improve on?

A: “I’m definitely trying to get my shot better, develop my quickness and my ball handling so I can be more versatile. I think my strengths are my footwork in the post and playing strong.”

Q: What offers and interest have come in for you so far?

A: “I have offers from Virginia Tech and La Salle so far. I have received interest from Louisville, NC State, and a lot more schools.”
