Two of the top programs in the state of New Jersey in the Ranney School vs. Bergen Catholic are set to square off against each other this Saturday at the Hoop Group Boardwalk Showcase. Even with the tough schedules, they have played, both teams enter this game undefeated. They are both in the conversation for who will win this year’s Tournament of Champions and it will be a fun preview of what to expect from them going forward.

Ranney School

Ranney has lived up to expectations this season and enter this contest 8-0. They left their mark at the John Wall Holiday Invitational by coming with the Championship. Bryan Antoine and Scottie Lewis have racked up plenty of accolades but still remain hungry this season. Antoine gives teams fits with how he scores and Scottie Lewis is excellent on both ends. It doesn’t stop there for the Panthers with guys like Florida commit Alex Klatsky, freshman guard Elijah Perkins and senior forward Chris Autino. Bergen Catholic is a tough opponent, but the Panthers are ready for whatever comes their way this Saturday.

Bergen Catholic

Since head coach Billy Armstrong took over Bergen Catholic has developed into one of the best high school basketball programs in New Jersey. The Crusaders enter this game ranked 29th in the country, according to Prep Circuit. Xavier commit Zach Freemantle is having the dominant high school season we all thought he would to this point and is complemented by junior power forward Matt Zona. It doesn’t stop at the frontcourt with Bergen as they have a strong backcourt with Saint Peter’s commit Doug Edert, junior Raejon Figures, freshman Will Richardson, and senior Justin Regis. Armstrong has enough pieces and talent to give the Ranney School a strong fight Saturday night.
