Josh Pierre-Louis decided to decommit from UNLV and open up his recruitment after now-former UNLV head coach Mario Menzies got fired. Multiple schools reached out once he got his release from the school, but Pierre-Louis made the decision to commit to the Temple Owls last week. He will play alongside his brother Nate for the next two years. He spoke to HG Insider on his reasoning to go with Temple.

Q: Why did you decide on Temple?

A: “Temple was home to me because of Coach Aaron McKie. He’s been recruiting me since the jump and when I didn’t have that many schools after me. I also get the chance to be with my brother so it all made the sense. I felt like it was the best opportunity for me.”

Q: What’s it going to be like to suit up with your older brother these two years?

A: “We want to put Philadelphia and Temple on the map again. We want to bring Temple back to what they were. Both of us play tremendous defense and do more than just score. We both work really hard in the gym and push each other to keep getting better.”

Q: How do you think Aaron McKie will develop you when you get there next year?

A: “I’ve known Coach McKie for a while now and before I was a part of the Owl nation. He always had a lot of belief in me. I’m going to get better there because he has a great I.Q. for the game and I can’t wait to play there.”
