Class of 2020 guard A.J. Hoggard from Huntington Prep (WV) has had an excellent AAU season with the PSA Cardinals. Hoggard is averaging 16.2 points and 5.1 assists per game this season. He spoke to HG Insider on his game and what he attributes his success to.

Q: You have a big season this year on the circuit. What was your approach heading into April?

A: “My approach was to simply give my best version of myself in my last April ever playing AAU.”

Q: What would you say makes you stand out against some of the top prospects in the nation?

A: “My ability of playmaking & leading my guys to wins is what makes me stand out.”

Q: What is the latest with your recruitment?

A: “Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Marquette, Maryland, Louisville and St. John’s are the latest schools to get involved in my recruitment.”

Q: What would you say is the main reason your stock has taken off?

A: “Winning and playing well, but most importantly winning is the reason things have taken off.”

Q: What would you say are the strengths in your game?

A: “My strengths are my playmaking, getting to the rim and making the right pass.”
