West Lawn's Stevie Mitchell is looking forward to stepping into a junior leadership role this season. Mitchell comes off an impressive AAU season with Philly Pride finishing the season as UAA 16u MVP. He spoke to HG Insider about his recruitment and role this season.

Q: How would you describe yourself as a player to someone who has never seen you play?

A: I describe myself as a someone who is gonna bring energy on offense and defense and a good scorer.

Q: What role / character do you play on your team?

A: I am one of the Captains on our team along with Evin, Avanti and Kieran. I try to lead by example by always playing hard in practice and in games.

Q: What do you think is most intriguing about you as a prospect?

A: I think my ability to score and play defense along with being a good teammate.

Q: What's the ultimate goal that you are looking to achieve?

A: I want to play Professionally and for as long as I possibly can. 

Q: What are we going to see different from you this year? 

A: I have become a better shooter. Both catch and shoot and off the dribble.

Q: Which schools have been the most active in your recruitment?

A: Offers: Lasalle, Temple, Virginia Tech, Saint Joes, Penn State, Penn, VCU, Lehigh, Towson, Siena. 
Took an Official visit to Temple.
Interest: Stanford, Michigan, Marquette, Notre Dame, Virginia, Harvard, Belmont, Ohio State, Georgia, Miami

Q: What is something you would like people to know about you?

A: I enjoy school and I am a goofy kid.
