Q: Is this the right camp for my son?
A: If your son is looking for the best Instruction, Competition, and Exposure, then look no further than Hoop Group Elite.We offer the best instruction, competition, and exposure! Over 950 college coaches and scouting services attended in 2008. 502 campers received scholarships in 2008. The best high school and college coaches in the country work our camp.
Q: Which session is best for my son?
A: Call us at (732) 502-2255 and ask for Mike or Joe to help place your son in the right week. We offer a wide variety of camps from our Traditional Hoop Group Elite Sessions in the month of July, to Hoop Group Academic Elite, Hoop Group Junior Elite for the younger campers, and Hoop Group Specialized Position Camp for the serious basketball player that wants to develop their game.
Q: Should I put down a deposit to reserve my place in camp?
A: Yes, you may put down a deposit of at least $250 to reserve a spot in camp if you register by mail.
Q: When is full payment due?
A: The remainder of the cost must be paid 2 weeks before the start of camp.
Q: Can I sign up when I get to camp?
A: Maybe. Some of our camps sell out and we are not able to accommodate anyone trying to sign up that day. In the case that we do have spots available, payment must be made with cash, money order or credit card (American Express, Visa and Mastercard only). We strongly recommend you sign up early.
Q: What is included in the cost of camp?
A: The cost of camp includes room, board, meals, tuition and trainers fees. All campers receive a reversible jersey that must be worn for the duration of camp.

Q: When should I arrive on the first day of camp?
A: Registration on the first day of camp is the following:
Hoop Group Academic ELITE Session I is from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Hoop Group ELITE Session I July 5-8 is from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Hoop Group ELITE Session II July 10-13 is from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Hoop Group ELITE Specialized Position Camp July 15-17 is from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM
Hoop Group Academic ELITE July II 24-27 is from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Hoop Group ELITE Session III July 28-31 is from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Hoop Group Junior ELITE August 1-4 is from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Camp starts immediately after registration ends.
Q: Do I need a key deposit?
A: Yes, each camper needs to bring cash, check or credit card to cover a refundable key deposit. If your deposit is in cash, you will be issued a check for that amount in return on the last day of camp provided you return the key.
Q: Why is the key deposit so much?
A: The key deposit is significant because each school charges us for lost keys. When a key is lost, locks must be changed and we are billed directly by the school.
Q: What do I need to bring to camp?

Q: What do I need to bring to registration?
A: You must bring your refundable key deposit, medical form and medical waiver. Please go to the bottom of this page to download our medical form and waiver.
Q: Are there trainers on the premises?
A: Yes, we have trainers that are on call 24 hours per day.
Q: My son has food allergies. What does he need to do?
A: He should let someone on the Hoop Group Elite staff know, as well as the training staff. You should also contact each school directly. Please note that no peanut oils are used in any of the cafeterias at any of our camp facilities.
Q: Can I attend and watch?
A: Yes, we encourage that parents and family members come watch throughout the week.
Q: Is camp split up by age and ability level?
A: Yes, camp is split up by age and ability level.
Q: When are tryouts?
A: Tryouts are on the first day of camp. Our staff will be evaluating players throughout the day to make sure they are placed in the right league.
Q: If my son doesn’t perform well in tryouts, will he still have the ability to change leagues?
A: Possibly. There may be opportunities to “move up".
Q: Who will be working the camps?
A: Our staff is second to none. We employ many coaches from some of the top high school programs in the country. Also, we will have current Division 2 and Divison 3 coaches at all of our weeks. We do not allow any college students to coach.
Q: Will college coaches be in attendance?
A: Yes, there will be college coaches at every session of camp. All of our July sessions are during the “live” recruiting period and are well attended by Division 1 coaches. Our sessions in June and August are well attended by Division 2 and 3 coaches. In addition there are scouting services at all camp sessions.
Q: Where will my son stay during camp?
A: Your son will stay in college dormitories. All rooms are doubles so he will have a roommate.
Q: Are the dorms air conditioned?
A: Dorms at Albright College and Haverford College are air conditioned.
Q: Can my son pick his roommate?
A: Yes, we encourage that he come with someone he knows and that they room together. However, all roommate requests should be made 2 weeks prior to camp to ensure our staff time to accommodate you.
Q: What if he doesn’t know anyone? Can he come alone?
A: Absolutely. Many of our campers come to camp without knowing anyone. If no roommate request is made, every effort will be made to match your son up with someone who is around the same age and also from the same area.
Q: Is there supervision in the dorms?
A: Yes, we have at least 2 coaches stationed on every floor of the dorms that campers are staying on. Coaches will be on duty until late in the evening patrolling the dorms. We also have a Director of Security at all sessions to keep issues to a minimum.
Q: Where is camp located?
A: Camp sessions for 2010 will be at Albright College and Haverford College. Please visit our directions page for more info.
Q: Is there public transportation available to get to camp?
A: Yes, please see below for more information about public transportation to our camps.
Q: When is camp over?
A: Camp ends with our awards ceremony at approximately 2:30 PM on the last day of each camp. The awards ceremony will be followed by All Star games.
Q: Will my child stay well hydrated?
A: There are water fountains available at all courts as well as a “water hole” where Gatorade is sold. We remind our campers throughout the week to make sure they stay hydrated.
Q: Do I need to bring money to camp?
A: It’s a good idea. Campers can purchase drinks throughout the day and additional food at night.
