Over 1,000 high school teams have participated in the Metro HBC over the years. Former Metro HBC Showcase champions include: St. Anthony’s NJ, St. Patrick’s NJ, Seton Hall Prep NJ, St. Benedict’s NJ, CBA NJ, Gonzaga DC, and Bishop Loughlin NY. Most seasons the Metro HBC champion has gone on to win the state championship.
2008 Champ St. Patrick's won the NJ Tournament of Champions and finished #1 in NJ. The 2008 runner-up Windsor went on to win the Connecticut State championship and finished #1 in Connecticut.
